Howard Whitpan, Jr.
Auto Salesman
 
Mr. Howard Whitpan, 87, formerly of Springfield, died on July 3, 2017 at  his home in Drexel Hill, PA. 
 
Born in Appleton, WI, Mr. Whitpan was a 1948 graduate of Upper Darby High School.  He was a long time resident of Springfield.  He was an automobile salesman for various dealerships over his lifetime. 
 
The Korean War Air Force veteran was a member of Springfield Baptist Church as well as AARP and the American Legion. 
 
Mr. Whitpan loved to swim and to tinker with crafts and projects.  He enjoyed traveling with his family and loved airplanes. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Sonja (nee Ott) Whitpan, a son, Howard David Whitpan, and a daughter, Kimberly Pollick and her fiancé, David Bierlein, 4 step children, Darlene Hale, Linda Adler, James Ott, and Carol Rouzer, several grandchildren, and a special granddaughter, Patricia Catherine Ulmer.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Jane C. Whitpan.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 13, 2017 after 10:00 AM at the Springfield Baptist Church, 184 N. Norwinden Drive, Springfield, PA 19064, followed immediately by his funeral service at 11:00 AM.
 
Inurnment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Malvern, PA.
 
Donations in his memory may be made to the Kovacs Funeral Home, Inc., 530 W. Woodland Avenue, Springfield, PA 19064 to defray funeral costs.
